Enzo Fernandez’s father, Raul, has now claimed that his son is going to ask to play in a different position next season.
He claimed in an interview with ‘The Chelsea Spot’ that the 22-year-old will ask Mauricio Pochettino if he can play in a more advanced role for the next campaign.
Despite joining a sinking ship that was the club in the back end of the last Premier League season, Fernandez still managed to impress at Stamford Bridge after joining in January.

His performances did little to suggest that the Blues had overpaid either, despite breaking their own transfer record to sign him.
The majority of his displays saw him featuring in a far more defensive role than he would have liked ideally, especially when looking at some of his performances for the national team, Argentina.
Fernandez to ask to play new position
However, his father has now claimed that Fernandez is going to hold a conversation with the new manager about potentially moving further forward next season.
He said: “Enzo is comfortable, happy, and adjusting to London. He was happy about the arrival of Pochettino. We have faith and hope that things will turn out much better than this league season that just happened!

“Next season? My son wants to be a champion! I think [we will see Enzo play further forward]! He was going to ask [Pochettino] to play further advanced.”
The new manager will be heavily reliant on the former Benfica man going into next season, with him committing the majority of his future to a career at Stamford Bridge.
The club are reportedly looking to sign a midfield partner that can be the perfect complement to Fernandez, with them seemingly currently focusing their attention on Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
