‘Going to think I’m crazy’… ESPN pundit now makes bold prediction about Chelsea

ESPN pundit Janusz Michallik thinks Chelsea’s project is still going to come good, although supporters may have to wait a while for that to happen.

It has been a disastrous season for Chelsea so far, with Mauricio Pochettino‘s men currently sitting 12th in the Premier League table.

However, Janusz Michallik, who has been speaking about the Blues on ESPN FC, is expecting much brighter days to come at Stamford Bridge.

Last season was also a terrible one for Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, who watched their club finish in the bottom half of the table despite having invested so much money in the team.

Janusz Michallik on Chelsea’s project

Michallik has put it out there that he thinks Chelsea’s project under Boehly and Clearlake will come good.

Discussing it on ESPN FC, the former USA international said: “You’re going to think I’m crazy, but I think it’s going to come good. There’s an idea and although it’s not going to come good this year, I think it was a calculated risk and maybe the only reason that I’m skeptical a little bit is that they didn’t take care of the biggest problem, which is obviously scoring for them.

“I do believe Christopher Nkunku, when he comes back, he’s going to help the team. I think that the likes of Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, those are big losses.”

Will Chelsea return to the top of football again?

Right now, they are a long way off. To be blunt, at this moment in time, they are nothing but a bang average, mid-table club.

That being said, with the amount of money the club’s owners are pumping in and the quality of players that are arriving at Stamford Bridge, things are surely going to work out eventually.

It may be a while, but because of the above, Chelsea will probably eventually get back to where they once were.

Getting there may mean spending more money, with some big players in the game, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, currently being linked with a move to west London.
