Chelsea face having to pay Napoli striker Victor Osimhen big money to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea will have to rip up their wage structure in order to have a chance of signing either Victor Osimhen or Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
A source told the outlet that because Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are unlikely to be in Europe next season, they are going to have to offer the likes of Osimhen and Toney huge wages.
Chelsea currently sit 12th in the Premier League table following their 2-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park over the weekend.
Last month, TEAMtalk claimed that Osimhen could cost £120m.

Should Chelsea rip up their wage structure for Victor Osimhen?
Absolutely. Osimhen is an elite striker and could be worth every penny.
Last season, the Nigerian scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances to help Napoli win the Serie A title. This term, he has netted six times in 11 outings.
If Chelsea had that kind of firepower, there is no way they would be in the bottom half of the table right now.
Scoring goals has not been their only issue this season, though. Recently, the Blues have been extremely leaky at the back.
In their last five games, Pochettino’s side have conceded 14 times. It is a problem that needs to be addressed immediately, according to ESPN pundit Steve Nicol.
How Pochettino goes about doing that remains to be seen. Maybe the Argentine changes the formation or signs a new defender or two. At this moment in time, it is not clear what the solution is, but he has to find one.
Fail to do that, and this campaign is only going to get much worse for Chelsea and Pochettino, who could soon find himself fighting for his job at Stamford Bridge.
