Mauricio Pochettino has now confirmed some big team news for Chelsea ahead of their West London derby against Fulham this weekend.

He claimed in his pre-match press conference that Ben Chilwell and Benoit Badiashile are going to be involved in some capacity after a number of weeks or months on the sidelines due to injury.

Chilwell has not been seen since September when he hobbled off the pitch in the EFL Cup against Brighton, with it not being known at the time just how important that problem would become.

It turned out that it would end up being months on the sidelines for the England international, which has left his position lacking in personnel.

Levi Colwill has been forced to play there for the majority of this time, and he has clearly been looking out of position when playing there.

Another absentee in recent weeks has been Badiashile, with him not really making a full comeback from an injury he suffered last season.

His performances suggested he wasn’t playing at full capacity, and he was soon back on the treatment table.

However, the manager has now claimed that both players will be involved in some capacity at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

He said: “Good news about Chilwell and Ben [Badiashile] and we need to assess Carney Chukwuemeka to see if he’s available. But Chilwell and Badiashile will for sure be involved in the squad tomorrow.”

Whether either of them are handed a start is another question, with The Chelsea Chronicle already predicting that it will be an unchanged back four from the defeat to Middlesbrough in midweek.
