Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has admitted that he’s blown away by how good his teammate is.

That person is Blues youngster Levi Colwill.

Colwill, who’s still only 20, is emerging as one of Chelsea’s first-team stars this season.

The left-footed defender has quickly cemented himself as a favourite in Mauricio Pochettino’s line-up, starting every Premier League game so far during this campaign.

We’re seeing him perform and look solid at left-back. He’s a natural centre-back by trade, though. We’re pretty certain his long-term future will be in the heart of defence as a ball-playing centre-half.

Cole Palmer super impressed

Cole Palmer knows all about Colwill’s talent after playing with him for England at youth level. The 21-year-old’s now club teammates with him, too.

The pair of them are exciting youngsters helping to shape this new-look Blues side at Stamford Bridge.

When discussing Colwill to Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, Palmer said: “I think he can go to the very top.

“He’s got every single attribute that you want in a centre-back and he’s humble.”

We agree that Colwill’s got so many qualities to his game and his skills make him a modern day defender. This include great pace, temperament and passing range.

So much more to come from Levi Colwill

Colwill’s certainly got the support of the Chelsea fanbase due to his connections with the club’s academy.

The versatile defender forced his way into the Blues first-team plans this season after a successful loan spell at league rivals Brighton last year.

Now, he’s one of the first names on the team sheet at Chelsea.

He made his senior England debut this month during the international break, with his upwards trajectory taking place at a rapid rate.

Speaking via Football London earlier this month, Chelsea boss Pochettino described Colwill as a “very mature” player with so much quality.

It’s quite remarkable that Colwill is still only 20 when you watch him play.
