Chris Sutton thinks that Chelsea are still a work in progress despite their steady improvement in recent weeks.
Chelsea are currently on a four-game unbeaten run across all competitions, with the latest result a 2-2 draw against Arsenal last weekend.
Now, the Blues are preparing for this Saturday’s Premier League fixture at home to Brentford.
This does feel like an extra important game considering the club’s next set of league games. A very tricky five-game run after Brentford will see them come up against Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton and Manchester United.

Sutton prediction
BBC pundit Chris Sutton is predicting Chelsea will record a narrow 2-1 win over Brentford.
“Brentford ended a six-game winless streak by beating Burnley last time out, but I feel Chelsea are improving every week,” Sutton told BBC Sport.
“They haven’t cracked it yet under Mauricio Pochettino, but they are getting there. They were probably the better team for most of their game with Arsenal last weekend, and ended up being disappointed with a draw.
“I’m going to go with Chelsea but, every time I do that, they seem to to find a way of stuffing it up. Brentford are exactly the type of team who could upset them too, so I am fully expecting to get this one wrong.
“Sutton’s prediction: 2-1.”
Chelsea vs Brentford form
It may surprise some to hear that Chelsea have a draw and two defeats from their previous three encounters with Brentford.
Hopefully, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino can put a stop to that poor record against their London neighbours.
Finally, players are returning from injuries and the squad is starting to look a little bit more filled out.
A huge positive for the Blues is scoring eight goals in their most recent three league matches, so it’ll be interesting to see how they line up in attack this Saturday afternoon. We’re finally starting to see the best from the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling, but the team is desperate for some consistency.
