Stan Collymore has urged Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus to join Premier League rivals Chelsea this summer.

Man City star Jesus, 25, is being linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

It’s been reported by Fabrizio Romano that Chelsea have now opened talks in an attempt to sign the Brazilian forward. However, there’s also competition from Arsenal in the race for his signature.

Romano adds Jesus may cost at least €50million (£43million) to bring in during this transfer window.

Collymore has urged Jesus to join Chelsea

Pundit Collymore has put forward a fairly strong argument as to why Chelsea is the ideal destination for Jesus this summer over Arsenal.

He suggests the 25-year-old’s got the perfect attributes to thrive in the system at Stamford Bridge.

“If he goes to Chelsea he could be the player Romelu Lukaku was promised to be but wasn’t. At Chelsea, they create loads of chances, they will stick the ball in the box and Jesus can be the fox in the box I’ve so often said they need. If Jesus just concentrated on doing some really good work in the box, he could be that man,” Collymore said.

“If I was Jesus I would be thinking of myself in the blue shirt at Stamford Bridge. I’d be thinking that Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and, if he stays, Timo Werner would be putting it on a plate for me and I’d be getting my 25 goals as a regular starter next season.”

Obviously, Chelsea need more from their forwards next season.

The track record of Jesus suggests he could be a great solution for the Blues, but so many attackers have flopped when playing at the Bridge.

There’s got to be a pressure on Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to get the best from an attacking system next season. Many Blues fans will hope Jesus factors into the plan.
