Cole Palmer really pushed for his move to Chelsea in the summer.
That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has shared Cole Palmer‘s reason for leaving Manchester City for Chelsea on X.
The attacker has been a bit of a revelation at Stamford Bridge, scoring in his last outing for his new club, a 4-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur.

It was his third goal of the season for Chelsea and got Mauricio Pochettino’s side back into the game after they had gone 1-0 down.
Cole Palmer pushed for Chelsea move
Jacobs says Palmer pushed for a move to Chelsea because he wanted more game time.
On X, the journalist posted: “Palmer was clear with Manchester City after the Under-21 Euros. He wanted game time, and he’s already had more Premier League minutes at Chelsea than with Manchester City. He pushed for the Chelsea move, with Joe Shields important in it, and his decision has already paid off.”
Cole Palmer getting game time at Chelsea
Palmer is getting what he wished for and deservedly so. There is no one who deserves to be playing more right now at Chelsea than the England U21 international. He has been exceptional since joining them.
On top of his three goals, Palmer has also registered two assists in the Premier League and two in the Carabao Cup.
As per WhoScored, the former City man is also making 1.6 key passes per game, which is the highest average in his squad.

Right now, Chelsea would be lost without him. It is a good job that they managed to get that deadline day deal for the player done, with Pochettino recently stating that a footballer of his mould was desperately needed at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer will get the chance to show his old side what they are missing on Sunday when Pep Guardiola’s men make the trip to west London to take on Chelsea.
The Blues will have momentum going into the game after beating their fierce rivals Tottenham in their last Premier League outing. Let’s see what they can do with it.
