Mauricio Pochettino says one of his players is really happy after Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Chelsea managed to bounce back from their defeat at Everton last weekend with victory over Chris Wilder’s side at Stamford Bridge.

Goals from Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson gave the Blues all three points, while goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and the rest of the backline managed to keep a clean sheet, something Mauricio Pochettino spoke to Chelsea’s official club website about after the game.

Petrovic was making his full debut for Chelsea following Robert Sanchez’s injury.

Injury problems are starting to mount up again for Pochettino, who is now set to be without Marc Cucurella for a while.

Djordje Petrovic delighted after Sheffield United win

Pochettino says Petrovic is very happy after making his full debut yesterday and thinks the clean sheet was important for both him and the team.

On the 24-year-old, the Chelsea boss said: “I think always is good when the keeper and the team keep the clean sheet and important for him, his debut and for sure he’s happy.”

Djordje Petrovic will face harder challenges as a Chelsea goalkeeper

Keeping a clean sheet, it is only natural for Petrovic to be happy with how yesterday’s game went.

However, the Serbian was barely tested, with Chelsea dominating and Sheffield United refusing to venture into the Blues’ half.

There are going to be much harder tests to come for Petrovic, starting with the Blues’ Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle United on Tuesday.

It is quite an important game, with a place in the semi-finals at stake. Petrovic and everyone else will have to be at their best if they are to beat a Newcastle side who are still performing despite their own injury crisis.
