Jason Cundy thinks Chelsea target Michael Olise is too good for Crystal Palace and heading for the very top of the sport.

Palace star Michael Olise, who turned 22 last month, is one of the most exciting and dazzling wide players in the Premier League right now.

He only returned from a hamstring injury a couple of months ago, but he’s since scored five goals in nine league matches.

Journalist Simon Phillips reported via Substack in November that Chelsea will make a fresh move to try sign Olise next summer.

TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy is blown away by the individual quality of Palace’s Olise.

“I want to talk about Michael Olise at Crystal Palace,” Cundy told talkSPORT.

“That kid, for me, I think he can go into any team in the Premier League – right now, including Manchester City.

“Crystal Palace fans won’t thank me for saying this but this kid is going to the very top. He’s too good for Palace.

“Someone is going to come in for him. He’s absolutely top draw this kid and he’s going to go to the very top.”

We agree that there’s so many more levels to Olise’s game that we’ll see as he develops over time.

The right-winger, who’s very skilful and has a wand of a left foot, is the outstanding individual at Selhurst Park.

He’s got the talent to play in a side higher up the league, but let’s remember that Chelsea are only mid-table and trying to reestablish themselves.

The Frenchman scored a brilliant goal in a fixture against Chelsea last month, providing a really stern test for Levi Colwill in defence.

Our preference for Chelsea is to focus on signing a central striker before looking at more wingers, despite the obvious talent of the Palace star. In fact, the Blues already have an abundance of talent in the wide areas at Stamford Bridge.
