Stewart Robson has delivered a pretty firm criticism on Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo for his displays so far this season.
There’s been a lot of pressure on Moises Caicdeo to deliver world-class performances during his first year at Stamford Bridge. In fairness, the Blues did pay Premier League rivals Brighton a British-record fee of £115m (Sky Sports) to sign him last summer.
However, the 22-year-old midfielder is yet to really find his peak form in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
ESPN pundit Stewart Robson has described Caicedo’s first half of the season in a Chelsea shirt as “very average”.
He told ESPN: “You look at players that everybody was talking about when he was at Brighton, Caiciedo. You saw him as a high-energy player that could do both sides of the game, he’s dynamic. I’m seeing a player that’s very average at the moment. He’s not playing badly, but he’s very average.”

We’re seeing signs that Caicedo is beginning to find some form recently in Chelsea midfield, but he’s still a long way off the levels he showed last year in Brighton colours. You could argue he was among the best in the country as a deep-lying midfielder.
Hopefully, the athletic defensive midfielder is soo back to his best and dictating games in the Premier League.
Speaking via his podcast last month, John Obi Mikel insisted that he’s a big fan on Chelsea’s Caicedo and wants him to get time at Stamford Bridge.
Unfortunately, you’re going to have a target on you back from day one when you cost over £100 million.
Caicedo’s got all the attributes you could want in a modern day midfielder in the Premier League, so we’re optimistic it’s just a matter of time before everything clicks. We don’t expect the critics do go anywhere in the meantime, though!
