‘He’s very good’: Joao Felix already says he’s been blown away by one of Chelsea’s January signings

Joao Felix has claimed in an interview with Diario AS that he has been very impressed by Enzo Fernandez since he joined Chelsea.

The World Cup winner was the subject of heavy interest from the Blues throughout the entire month of January, however it looked multiple times that the deal just wouldn’t come to fruition.

There were fierce negotiations in the final days of the window, before Chelsea were handed the green light with minutes to spare.

Despite how late and drawn out the deal was, Fernandez still made his debut for the club in their return to Premier League action last week against Fulham.

Despite the underwhelming result, the 22-year-old made his mark anchoring the midfield.

Felix has claimed he has begun to settle in to training well, while the Portugal international has been left impressed by what he’s brought to the table.

Felix praises Fernandez

He said: “He is a very good boy. He has entered the group very well. He arrived two days before a game and already started playing. He has been very good. He is a very good player.”

Felix’s debut for the club, also against Fulham, was heading in the same direction as Fernandez’s for the first hour or so.

The forward was extremely impressive last month, before a rash challenge saw him sent off and subsequently banned for three matches.

He has now served that sentence, and is in line to return straight to the starting side that will take on West Ham tomorrow.

While it is so far unclear whether Felix will remain at Stamford Bridge beyond this season, Chelsea fans will be hopeful that his spell is made permanent if he impresses on the pitch, especially with the lack of creativity that has been seen elsewhere on the pitch.
