Mason Mount claims he’s never seen anybody with the technique to hit the ball as cleanly as former Chelsea teammate Olivier Giroud.
Giroud, 36, is an AC Milan striker that’s achieved so much in his career.
The left-footed centre-forward wasn’t always a regular starter during a three-and-a-half-year stay at Stamford Bridge, but he won the Champions League, Europa League, and FA Cup in Chelsea colours.
The Blues sold Giroud to Milan last year during the 2021 summer transfer window, and he’s continued to shine at the San Siro.

Olivier Giroud technique
Chelsea and England star Mount, who won the Champions League alongside Giroud, has given massive praise to his old teammate.
“I have never seen someone hit the ball so cleanly. The technique is [unbelievable]. Volleying, half-volleys and it’s so clean. I was lucky enough to be with him for a year and a half, or maybe a bit longer, so just a finisher,” Mount said.

In fairness, Giroud has been the scorer of some spectacular goals over the years.
The centre-forward has a goals highlight reel that could match any player in history, so he continues to be underrated to this day.
It says a lot about his individual quality that he’s part of the France squad for this World Cup in Qatar, as he edges closer to beating Thierry Henry’s record for most international goals by a Frenchman.
If you’re looking towards the most technically gifted individuals in the current Chelsea group, Hakim Ziyech is a name that springs to mind. The 29-year-old winger has underwhelmed during his time at the Bridge, but you can’t deny his technical excellence. Incidentally, he would reportedly like to leave the Blues to join AC Milan.
