Chelsea started the season extremely well under Enzo Maresca, who made an immediate impact at the club following his arrival from Leicester City last summer.
At one point, it looked like Chelsea would be capable of challenging Liverpool for the title, with a top-four finish seeming nailed on.
However, a terrible run of form since the turn of the year has seen Maresca‘s men fall miles behind Arne Slot’s side and out of the top four.

Thankfully for Maresca, finishing fifth could get Chelsea into the Champions League, the position they are currently in.

Chelsea players still very happy with Enzo Maresca
Despite results not going their way lately, it does not look like the Chelsea squad has lost faith in Maresca.
In his column for GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the majority of Chelsea players are still “very happy” with Maresca’s methods and tactics.
The 45-year-old has quite a big squad, so he has not been able to give everyone a run of games in the starting XI.
It is why the likes of Joao Felix and Renato Veiga left the club on loan in the January transfer window. Felix is unlikely to stay at AC Milan, though, with the 25-year-old struggling there after making a bright start initially.
However, in general, the players who are currently at Chelsea do seem to be happy.
They have some big games coming up, with the Blues taking on London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur after their match against Leicester City this Sunday.

Chelsea’s last 10 Premier League fixtures
Chelsea managed to win their last Premier League tie, beating Southampton 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.
But they lost their previous two games before that after being defeated by Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.
In total, Maresca’s men have won just three of their last 10 outings in the top flight, which is why they have slipped out of the top four.

They have had injuries, though, but have at least been able to welcome back Wesley Fofana. If he can stay fit, that will be a huge boost to their defence, which has looked very unconvincing of late.
