Reports have claimed that staff at Chelsea have a sense of excitement about the recently closed summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic, those at the club feel like it was a positive summer as a whole for the club after the mass change they underwent.

After a season finishing in 12th place, Todd Boehly made it clear that he wasn’t prepared to settle with that at Stamford Bridge.

This revolved around the mass exodus that occurred of first team players. The squad at this stage is unrecognisable from the one who took to the pitch for the majority of last season.

Some of their most important players were the ones to go too. 12 months ago, it was unimaginable that the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz would be on the move, but here we are.

This was of course necessary in order to usher Chelsea into their new era, with the signings this summer seeming to plug obvious gaps far better than before.

The main target here was to find a long-term partner for Enzo Fernandez in midfield, after the club left him out to dry for the majority of his time in West London.

Signing Moises Caicedo for another club-record fee was done to do this, although it does seem as if he is going to need a bit of time to settle to his new surroundings.

One of the most promising signings of the window has not actually been able to take to his new home pitch as of yet.

Christopher Nkunku was the man many expected to bring the goals to Stamford Bridge, however an injury late in pre-season has slowed down his impact greatly.
