Chelsea have a clear candidate for who could be their final signing of the summer transfer window, however things are yet to advance to the final stages.
The Blues are keen to bring Xavi Simons into the club this summer, despite already capturing the additions of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap in attack.
Despite originally staying loyal to RB Leipzig, the Dutchman is beginning to turn the heat up on the Bundesliga side to try and force through his move to Stamford Bridge.
Simons missed training, and also wished international teammate Jorrel Hato well after his own move to Chelsea was made official.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Benjamin Sesko delaying Chelsea signing Xavi Simons
RB Leipzig are currently involved in talks that could see two of their best players move on. Former Blues target Benjamin Sesko is looking poised for a move to Manchester United.
It looks as if this accelerating transfer is having an impact on Chelsea’s efforts to sign Simons, with the German side clearly looking to raise plenty of funds before the end of the transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Leipzig are prioritising sorting out the striker’s future before making any decisions when it comes to the midfielder.
He said: “Chelsea remain in advanced conversations with RB Leipzig. Xavi Simons wants to go to Chelsea, but at the moment still no breakthrough. Why? As I told you it was not done. For two reasons. RB Leipzig are really focused on the Sesko deal now, that’s the priority. Chelsea are working on outgoings, we have to wait for official statements.”

Liverpool could also play role in Xavi Simons deal
Despite no other Premier League side being strongly linked with a move for Simons, there are a number whose own transfer business may impact the deal.
Leipzig are keen on signing Harvey Elliott, who would be seen somewhat as a replacement for the Dutchman.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool would be open to selling the Englishman, however their pursuit of Alexander Isak could see them look to raise funds elsewhere.
