Alejandro Garnacho hasn’t had the best of seasons at Chelsea, but that doesn’t seem to have been reflected in their valuation.
It’s safe to say that Alejandro Garnacho‘s debut campaign at Chelsea has been a massive disappointment. After joining for a modest £40 million, expectations were high when he made the switch from Manchester United, but the 21-year-old winger cut a deeply frustrated figure.
He’s struggled with inconsistent form and a lack of game time, which even saw the Chelsea fans boo the winger on a couple of occasions.
Now, with his future in doubt and Portuguese prodigy Geovany Quenda arriving from Sporting CP this summer, alongside potentially Jarrod Bowen, Garnacho is being forced into a corner.

Chelsea set £40 million price tag for Alejandro Garnacho
According to MEN, Chelsea would want to receive around £40 million for Alejandro Garnacho this summer, which is the same fee he joined the Blues for.
Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Roma are all interested in signing Garnacho this summer; it just depends on whether any of those clubs will stump up the fee.
After failing at Manchester United and now Chelsea, it’s perhaps a long shot to expect the same return on a player who hasn’t proved to be worth the money paid.

Chelsea need to lower their expectations
Chelsea should cut their losses and accept a £30 million offer for Alejandro Garnacho this summer.
Given his thoroughly disappointing performances and inability to settle into the squad, a departure is the best outcome for all parties. It represents a slight loss on their initial investment, but reclaiming a significant £30 million fee frees up substantial space on the wage bill and removes an underperforming asset from the books.
This recouped capital can be immediately reinvested into players that actually fit the system, allowing the club to support Alonso.
