How Strasbourg could actually set Chelsea up to complete sensational deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle

With Chelsea keen on signing a top striker at the end of the season, one name will no doubt be top of the list for any big side looking to address their frontline.

Alexander Isak has emerged as one of the best strikers in Europe, and for that reason there is a big chance he is on the move at the end of the season.

Chelsea have been linked with Isak, although are safe in the knowledge that any deal will likely cost them a club-record fee following their signing of Moises Caicedo.

It has previously been reported that Champions League football is going to be essential for Isak to be convinced of a club, meaning the final weeks of the campaign are going to be crucial for Enzo Maresca’s side.

They sit just a point outside the top five right now, with season-defining games against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest to come before the campaign is done.

Chance for Chelsea to sign Alexander Isak with Newcastle’s interest in Emanuel Emegha

Despite looking set for their own Champions League qualification, it looks as if they are preparing for life without their talisman from next season onwards.

According to L’Equipe, they have turned their attention to fellow BlueCo owned Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha as a potential target should they need a new number nine.

The report goes on to say that the young striker is keen on a move to St. James’ Park, with the opportunity for regular minutes likely to arise.

Chelsea have a number of top names on their list of potential signings, however the dream addition would be the Premier League proven Swede.

Chelsea’s interested in Emegha too

The Blues will have taken a close look at Emegha this season, who is in electric scoring form in 2025 for Chelsea’s sister club.

Chelsea are seriously considering Emegha, although the signing would likely not prove the answer for the club’s ongoing goalscoring woes up top.

The Blues need someone who will already comfortably be able to contribute more goals thn Nicolas Jackson, and given the youngster’s lack of experience at the top level, this is by no means assured.
