After the travelling squad for Chelsea’s pre-season tour was announced, one glaring omission stood out more than anything else.
Trevoh Chalobah would not be flying to the United States, with him being left out of the travelling squad for the busy tour.
The decision is reportedly due to their desire to sell Chalobah this summer, and therefore look in another direction when it comes to potential defensive options.

The surprising thing around the exclusion was how crucial a role he played for the first team in the final few games of last season as they secured European football.
Chalobah sad about Chelsea situation
Fabrizio Romano said on YouTube that Chalobah was absolutely gutted about how things have played out at Stamford Bridge, especially after his strong performances at the end of last season.
He said: “Chalobah is really disappointed and sad about the situation. He thought he did his best for Chelsea in the second part of last season after coming back from injury.
“We can say it’s almost over between Chelsea and Trevoh Chalobah; they are looking for solutions. They will look at several possibilities in England, Germany, and Italy.”
Despite interest from Premier League clubs already, Chalobah has so far rejected everything that has come his way in terms of a move away.
It is so far not clear what exactly Enzo Maresca makes of the whole thing, however he does have a few options to look at who his predecessor did not.
Tosin Adarabioyo looking for minutes
One of those is new signing Tosin Adarabioyo, who has impressed greatly in his early training sessions.
Another is Wesley Fofana, who missed the entirety of last season due to a serious knee injury.
While he has been seen back in training already this summer, it has been noted that the club are looking to be cautious regarding his future.
With these two as well as Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi who all played big minutes last season, it looks as if Chelsea are building to a future where Chalobah simply doesn’t exist.
