Mauricio Pochettino has now claimed that he has been really impressed so far this season by Raheem Sterling.
He claimed in his pre-match press conference that he deserves the credit he has been getting recently for his improvement in performances.
After there was much debate amongst supporters over whether he should even still be in the starting line-up, Sterling has looked to take this season to prove the doubters wrong.

While things had been promising without an end product in the opening two Premier League games, he took last Friday’s outing by storm.
Two goals and assist against Luton saw him pick up a deserved Player of the Match award, with his confidence now at the highest level it has been seen he joined Chelsea.
Pochettino praises Sterling
While tomorrow night may be seen as an opportunity for the England international to be rested, the pre-match press conference did see him discussed.
Pochettino claimed he is fully deserving of the credit he has been given so far this season, and is doing his best to create a platform for him to succeed.

He said: “I am going to repeat, he deserves the credit. When he is going to work for the team, it’s only if a player wants. What we are doing is creating a platform for all of the players to find their best, to feel comfortable. For questions we can find solutions for them and situations we cannot fix in the past, we are able to discuss.”
“I think with a player like him, performing how he is in the last games, to find the responsibility is inside of him and he deserves the credit.”
Sterling will be looking to pick up where he left off last week when the Premier League returns at the weekend against Nottingham Forest.
