Gus Poyet has rated Chelsea’s season out of 10 and some may be surprised with the number he has given them.
The former Chelsea player was recently speaking about his old side in an interview with FourFourTwo.
The consensus in football right now is that the Blues are having a shocking campaign.
They currently sit 10th in the Premier League table and probably need a miracle to finish in the top four at this point. Things have just not gone well for Mauricio Pochettino so far.
Gus Poyet rates Chelsea’s season out of 10
Poyet has been quite kind to his former club. He gave them a six when asked to score their campaign out of 10.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, he said: “I would go six. I cannot go higher, because of all the expenditure, you would think Chelsea should be higher in the table, but this is no criticism of Pochettino, I know how difficult it is for the coach.”

The Chelsea Chronicle’s season rating
Chelsea’s season is much closer to a two than a six, one for their win against Tottenham Hotspur and the other for the 4-4 draw with Manchester City. Everything else has been terrible.
Wednesday night’s 2-1 loss against Manchester United was possibly their lowest moment of the campaign.
The scoreline suggests it was a close game, but Chelsea were absolutely battered by the home side.
Erik ten Hag’s men managed to register 28 shots (BBC Sport), which is truly staggering. They have not even been in great form themselves.
A lot of their players did not turn up on the day, including Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who did not impress Ally McCoist with their performances.
The South American pair and the rest of team now need to pick themselves back up and try and redeem themselves in their next game against Everton.
Chelsea won 1-0 at Goodison Park last term, but things looked a lot different then, while their overall record at that ground is not great and does not give you much confidence.
