Frank Lampard has admitted that he feels sorry for Ben Chilwell after the Chelsea defender suffered another injury blow.
Ben Chilwell, who’s had his fair share of injury setbacks in recent seasons, was forced off the pitch during last weekend’s 3-1 win against Bournemouth with a hamstring problem.
The Blues are currently preparing to face Nottingham Forest this afternoon in the Premier League, but they’ll be without their first-choice left-back at Stamford Bridge.
When asked about Chilwell’s fitness before the Forest game, Lampard said: “Not fit. We are hoping that Chilly may be fit for possibly the last game or two of the season, but that’s a tight call.
Lampard added: “I feel for him (Chilwell)… We miss big players.”

Just like Lampard, we sympathise with Chilwell after yet another injury problem.
It doesn’t sound too serious or a long-term issue because there’s a chance he may be back before the end of the season. The Blues have just four league games left to play this month before the campaign finishes.
However, it’s very worrying that the England international continues to pick up these injuries.
He’s played just 30 first-team games across all competitions this season. Meanwhile, the year before he only managed 13 senior appearances.

If there’s any positive to come from Chilwell’s upcoming absence, Chelsea fans may get to enjoy watching Lewis Hall on the pitch.
Hall, who’s just 18, is a very exciting Blues prospect from the academy that is currently with the first-team group.
Lampard has confirmed ahead of the Forest game that Hall “has a chance” to feature.
With Chilwell and Marc Cucurella both sidelined through injury, Hall is a great option to step in at left-back during the remainder of the season.
He’s not looked overawed in his eight previous senior appearances, so it would be great to watch him test himself again at tis level to show how his development is going.
