Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has now claimed that he is a big fan of one figure currently at the club.
He told ‘The Obi One Podcast’ that he believes current manager Mauricio Pochettino can bring the club back to where he thinks they belong, at the top of the table.
Pochettino has seen his place in the hotseat at Stamford Bridge come under pressure recently, after a string of poor results broke the camel’s back as far as supporters were concerned.
However, since then performances and results have both taken a positive turn, and big wins against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace seemed to keep him in his role for now.
An impressive point gained away from home at Manchester City was big too, with the reaction of the players as they defended for their lives showing that the players are certainly fighting for the manager.
Someone who seems to be a fan of the Argentine is Hazard, who has shared that he thinks has the potential to bring the Blues back to the top of the table.
Hazard praises Pochettino
He said: “As a Chelsea fan, you want them to be first. You want them to win every game. I know they have a good manager, I love Mauricio Pochettino. I think he can bring the team back to where it should be, but the Premier League is so hard.”
During his tenure at Stamford Bridge, Hazard had the opportunity to work with a number of elite managers, such as Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
Therefore, it is likely he is a good judge of who is a positive candidate at Stamford Bridge, at a particularly delicate point in the club’s history.
Pochettino will have the best chance possible to prove himself as the right man for the job at Wembley on Sunday in the EFL Cup final, where he will lead his side out against Liverpool.
The game gives him another chance at winning his first trophy in English football, and he will certainly have plenty of ideas over who he will be starting in six days’ time.
