Michael Owen has been made aware of Todd Boehly’s intentions as the Chelsea owner.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Owen revealed what someone from the Cobham chain of command had told him about Boehly’s outlook on the future of the club.
Chelsea’s new chief clearly has bold ambitions for the project he took over from Roman Abramovich last year.
On the field, he has splashed an enormous amount of cash to try transform the squad into a winning machine.
He spent well over £200m on new recruits last summer, and it doesn’t seem he’s going to slow down in January.

A lot of his signings have been on the younger end of the scale, as he attempts to build a Chelsea side for the long-term, rather than just the present.
In an interview last September, the 49-year-old also remarked on making the pathway clearer for their own academy players into senior football.
Away from the action, Boehly has apparently committed to renovating Stamford Bridge and expressed his desire to be a multi-club model like Manchester City.
Combine all of these elements, and the co-owner of the LA Dodgers appears to be constructing a behemoth in the sport.
Todd Boehly is transforming Chelsea
“Chelsea aren’t messing about. They are adamant they are going to be the superpower of this league for years and years to come,” remarked Owen.
“I was speaking to somebody within the hierarchy at Chelsea, they are not messing about.

“It is quite evident that we can see it. This is going to stay.”
But when and where will this growth end?
Winning the Premier League and Champions League must be at the very top of Boehly’s priority list.
Right now, either goal is pretty far off in the distance, with Graham Potter failing to evolve the team left by Thomas Tuchel.
Add a few more names to the Chelsea camp, and perhaps this will change in the next few months.
