It is fair to say that Ian Maatsen was impressed with his team-mate Cole Palmer after Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Cole Palmer once again came up with the goods for Chelsea, opening the scoring in a game where the home side really struggled to break down the visitors’ defence.

The 21-year-old also managed to register an assist, so it was another impressive individual performance by him. After the match, he took to Instagram to share a celebratory post.

Palmer’s goal against Sheffield United was his sixth in the Premier League for Chelsea this season.

Only Nicolas Jackson has scored more, with the Senegal international also managing to net in the victory at Stamford Bridge.

Four of Palmer’s goals have been penalties and while his latest did not come from the spot, Ian Maatsen could not resist reminding his team-mate that he is an extremely cold player.

Palmer is really proving to be a bargain, with Chelsea signing the England international from Manchester City for £40m (Sky Sports).

Arsenal legend Ian Wright now thinks the Blues need to start building around him and it is not hard to see why.

From what Palmer has shown so far, he looks to be the future of Chelsea. As for Maatsen, his career at Stamford Bridge is obviously not going as well.

The Dutch youngster is yet to start a game in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino.

With Marc Cucurella set for a spell on the sidelines, perhaps that could change soon. If not, then you would expect Maatsen to push for a move away from Chelsea and for the club to grant it.

The left-back is not on a long-term contract, so to avoid losing him on a free transfer, they may have to sell him.
