It has been claimed that there is a feeling Chelsea and new manager Mauricio Pochettino could be about to go into next season without signing another striker.

Journalist Nizaar Kinsella took to Twitter to say that after the additions of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, there may be no further additions in the number nine position.

This coincides with the return to fitness for Armando Broja. The youngster is back in training after a serious knee injury ended his season back in January.

The club obviously have a number of positions they are looking to improve after last season’s tough time.

One they have prioritised is the midfield role, after a number of key players have departed.

Their efforts have so far led them to Moises Caicedo, who they are reportedly in negotiations with Brighton over potentially signing.

Pochettino taking striker risk

He is not going to be cheap however, and this will leave it unlikely as to whether they will make any other season-defining additions.

Last season, a lot of the talk was over the club’s inability to put the ball in the net. Kai Havertz is responsible for the majority of minutes played up front for the club.

His difficulties in front of goal were not difficult to see, and it is perhaps behind the reason as to why the majority of fans are not too dissatisfied with the fee they have received for him.

With some big names still seemingly on the market as far as a striker goes, some may be hoping that they are not actually done with signings up top.

The likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are probably unattainable, however the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Dusan Vlahovic that could be available to sign.
