Thomas Tuchel has claimed in an interview with the club that Cesare Casadei must understand what it takes to play for Chelsea before joining the first team.
The Blues finally confirmed the long-awaited deal for the promising youngster last week, with it currently being claimed he will be mixed between the youth sides and the first team for this season.
His transfer follows the club’s recent change in policy, with them not afraid to invest big money in players for the future.

They have already secured deals to sign Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina from Aston Villa and Chicago Fire respectively, with the former being seen on the bench for last weekend’s game against Leeds United.
Tuchel has now shared what Casadei has to do to in order to join up with the first team, with him needing to understand what it means to be a Chelsea player first.
Casadei’s path to first team
He said: “We need to give him time and not to get over excited because I think we would not do him a favour. He’s a box-to-box midfielder, very strong with the head, very physical for his age.”
“But at the moment, it’s important he learns the language, he learns what Chelsea is all about and understands the culture and principles to live and play for Chelsea.”

“Then we will try to bring him to first team training and open the doors for him. Then in the end, he needs to step through himself.”
With the injuries mounting to the current crop of Blues midfielders, it may not be long until we see one of the Blues’ young midfielders on show, especially with midweek fixtures on the horizon.
While both are more attacking minded, it is plausible that Tuchel shifts his system again after defeat to Leeds, leaving a chance for them to break through.
