Chelsea have recently been linked with their former player Jamal Musiala.

Jamal Musiala has blossomed into an amazing attacking midfielder at Bayern Munich following his arrival from Chelsea. And one of his team-mates, Harry Kane, has told ESPN FC that he wished he played for England because of how incredible he is.

The 20-year-old played for the Three Lions all the way up to U21 level before deciding to switch to Germany, where he was born.

Last month, journalist Simon Phillips claimed on his Substack that Musiala is Chelsea’s dream target. The Blues face having to pay huge money if they want to re-sign him, though.

Harry Kane wishes Jamal Musiala played for England

Asked one German footballer he wished was English, Kane told ESPN FC: “I’m playing with Jamal Musiala at the moment. He is pretty much English, but he chose to play for Germany.

“He’s an incredible player, so much talent, I would’ve liked it if he’d picked England rather than Germany.”

Jamal Musiala an incredible player

It really would be great if Chelsea were able to re-sign Musiala. Despite being just 20 years of age, the Germany international is probably one of the best players in his position in the world.

He is creative and can really cause problems with his dribbling.

According to WhoScored, Musiala is making 2.9 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga this season. Only Leroy Sane (4.3) has a higher average in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

In the last campaign, the former Chelsea academy player averaged 2.3 and managed to score 12 goals and provide 10 assists in German football’s top division.

It is easy to see, then, that Musiala is a footballer that makes things happen. It is a shame that Chelsea could not hold on to him, but hopefully they are in the running to sign the Germany star if Bayern are forced to sell in the near future.

Musiala’s contract does not expire until 2026, so the German giants and Tuchel will not be panicking just yet, though it would be good for them if he put pen to paper on a new deal soon.
