Jose Enrique has criticised Chelsea for heading in the wrong direction following Graham Potter’s appointment.
Typing on Twitter, the former Liverpool defender and ex-teammate of Raheem Sterling slammed the Blues for stuttering, despite Todd Boehly’s vast spending on new signings.
It is fair to say that the project at Stamford Bridge has gone in reverse rather than into overdrive since Potter replaced Tuchel in September.
Aside from the nine-game unbeaten run, it’s been a pretty miserable period for Chelsea in the Premier League.

They have won just two of their last eight league games, both achieved against sides in the lower half of the table.
Potter will point towards the ridiculous number of injuries that have ravaged his squad in the last few months.
Currently, he is without potentially ten senior players for ahead of the FA Cup meeting with Manchester City tomorrow.
Chelsea set to spend again in January
Chelsea’s boss may also highlight the fact he inherited a team that was made up in Thomas Tuchel or Boehly’s image, rather than his own.
Yet, this issue did not slide with Enrique.
“Because you are a good manager for Brighton doesn’t mean you are going to be for a top team and the same when you are a player.

“Is incredible how much they are spending and instead of getting better it looks like is getting worse,” he said.
Regardless of this disapproval, Boehly seemingly has no intention on slowing down the shopping spree.
He has bought Benoit Badiashile and David Datro Fofana in the past few weeks, with a deal for Andrey Santos also all but sealed.
The American owner is also apparently attempting to land Enzo Fernandez or another midfielder this month.
If the new recruits fail to improve Chelsea, Enrique’s statement will ring truer than ever before.
