Chelsea’s new signing Benoit Badiashile has claimed he can’t wait to play with Thiago Silva at Stamford Bridge.
Badiashile completed a £35million transfer earlier in the January transfer window from Monaco, making him the latest Frenchman to join the Blues squad.
The 21-year-old is a left-footed defender with plenty of first-team experience for his age, playing 135 games in Monaco colours.
It’s going to be interesting now to see how the 6ft 4in centre-half settles in a new league and new country.

Benoit Badiashile can’t wait to play with Thiago Silva
Badiashile has been speaking about his move to west London and walking into a squad with so many high-profile players.
It’s no real surprise to hear the centre-back is looking forward to linking up with Chelsea’s 38-year-old star Thiago Silva, who’s one of his generation’s top defenders.
“There are some huge names in this dressing room, like Thiago Silva, a legend,” Badiashile told the club’s official Twitter account.
“He’s a player I look up to and so I am really happy to have the opportunity to play next to him.”

There’s plenty of French-speaking individuals in the Chelsea dressing room to help Badiashile settle in. The likes of Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, Edouard Mendy, Wesley Fofana and N’Golo Kante.
For any centre-back in the game, Silva is the perfect role model.
The Brazilian defender is still consistently shining on the highest level for club and country, with his reading and understanding of the game exceptional.
Kalidou Koulibaly seems to be the preferred centre-half partner right now alongside Silva, but will Graham Potter be tempted to alter things following the arrival of a new signing?
