Jason Cundy has singled out a Chelsea player he wants to see start delivering so much more creativity in his performances.
In terms of the Blues as an attacking force, the Chelsea squad does heavily rely on Cole Palmer to produce his magic on the football pitch. Palmer created the most chances in Europe’s big-five leagues between 4 December and 4 February, but he was rewarded with zero assists during that time.
Blues manager Enzo Maresca needs to try and get more out of his attacking unit during the rest of the season.
A lot of money has gone into providing strength in depth at Stamford Bridge, so it can’t always fall on Palmer’s shoulders to unlock the opposition’s defence in a game.

Jason Cundy demands more creativity from Chelsea player, he looks for the easy pass too much
Jason Cundy thinks that Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho, 24, is someone who’s simply got to start creating more. He’s claims that the Englishman is guilty of being too safe in possession.
When discussing Sancho’s spell at Chelsea so far, Cundy told talkSPORT: “This is a Chelsea team that relies on these players to give us creativity and width. I don’t see Sancho taking players on. He comes inside and looks for the easy pass. At the moment we’re going through that little bit of a dip, and he’s very much part of it…
“I’m still waiting for Sancho to deliver a consistent performance every week that you want to see, and he should be delivering.”
Chelsea’s buy clause for Sancho will become active as long as they finish 15th or higher in the Premier League this season. As it stands, Maresca’s side sit fourth and are desperately trying to secure Champions League qualification.
He’s assisted six times in 21 Blues appearances across all competitions this season, showing signs of his best form as a direct and tricky winger.
However, his recent performances in 2025 have been a concern because he’s struggling to provide a major attacking threat.

Chelsea need more from Jadon Sancho
While Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke compete for the right-winger spot at Chelsea, Sancho is the clear automatic starter on the left of attack. Therefore, he’s simply got to start producing more output to merit his starting position.
He’s got the individual talent to be a significant contributor for the Blues, but he’s playing with himself in recent weeks.
| Fixture | Minutes played | Chances created | Match rating |
| Brighton 2-1 Chelsea | 74 | 3 | 6.1 |
| Chelsea 2-1 West Ham | 52 | 0 | 6.6 |
| Manchester City 3-1 Chelsea | 73 | 1 | 6.2 |
| Chelsea 3-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers | 28 | 1 | 6.4 |
Sancho was ineffective in Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat to Brighton last weekend. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets another chance when the Blues return to the Amex Stadium again on Friday night to play Brighton in the Premier League.
