Jason Cundy thinks Chelsea should go out and try to sign Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
Toney, who’s 27, is a powerful centre-forward enjoying a fantastic season.
The English striker has scored 17 goals in 26 appearances this season for Brentford, with 16 of them coming in the Premier League.
He spent most of his career so far in the lower divisions, learning his craft. However, he’s left his mark in the top division during the last one and a half seasons.

Chelsea should get Ivan Toney
Toney already looks like the perfect Chelsea striker, according to Cundy.
The Brentford frontman is proving he can score and impact games in the Premier League.
As for Chelsea, they’re in desperate need of a clinical striker at the top end of the pitch.
“Do we need a centre-forward? Yes, we do… Ivan Toney has his issues off the field with what’s happening with the betting situation he’s been charged with; let’s wait and see,” Cundy said.
“He’s a Chelsea centre-forward to me, the way he is, the way he looks, the way he plays. We need a platform. We need a rugged, hard, clever, intelligent footballer up front. He ticks a lot of boxes. Plus, he knows the Premier League.”

Toney, whose price tag was quoted at £40million by iNews last summer, has so many strengths as a striker.
He’s part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad during the current international break, despite the betting scandal hanging over him. The Brentford star has accepted breaking Football Association betting rules, which could lead to a lengthy ban.
Journalist Ben Jacobs recently told the Simon Phillips Substack that Graham Potter does like Toney. Chelsea will wait to see how everything unfolds with his alleged gambling charge, though.
