Chelsea squads of the last couple of decades have been littered with world-class players, but could you say the same thing when you look at the current group?
There’s certainly been a shift in strategy recently to sign youngsters with super potential rather than a world-class status.
Hopefully, new Blues head coach Enzo Maresca can turn this young group into a trophy-winning team.
During an interview with Chelsea’s official YouTube channel, Maresca shared his belief that there’s already a very good group of players at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea and England attacker Cole Palmer, 22, it’s certainly one of the standout names in the Blues squad.

Jason Cundy thinks Cole Palmer is already a ‘superstar’
Jason Cundy went bold with his praise for Chelsea’s Palmer by calling him a “superstar” at the weekend.
He scored a stunning equalising goal from outside the box during Sunday’s Euro 2024 final, but his England side still suffered a 2-1 defeat to champions Spain.
“The boy (Palmer) is an absolute superstar. He is a superstar,” Cundy said on talkSPORT’s watchalong of the Euro 2024 final (9:39pm, 14 July).

Is Chelsea talisman now world class?
The Chelsea Chronicle thinks Palmer can be in the conversation alongside elite players based off his last 12 months.
However, consistency and longevity is needed before truly securing world-class status?
If the Chelsea playmaker continues like he’s going, then he’s heading right to the very top.
Rodri has predicted that Palmer has a big future ahead of him, via ITV Sport. Let’s hope that prediction comes true and he keeps growing.
