Chelsea fans have finally heard Enzo Maresca speak for the first time as Blues boss.
Enzo Maresca was appointed as the new Chelsea manager last month and gave a brief statement after it was confirmed that he would be replacing Mauricio Pochettino.
However, his first interview as Chelsea boss has only come out now.
In it, the Italian spoke about several things, including why he decided to leave Leicester City for the Blues.
Maresca and Chelsea start off their Premier League season against the 44-year-old’s former club Manchester City on August 18.

Enzo Maresca in awe of Chelsea squad
Maresca seems to be very excited about getting the chance to work with Chelsea’s squad.
In fact, the man himself says the players currently at Stamford Bridge are one reason why he decided to succeed Pochettino in the dugout.
In an interview shared on Chelsea’s official YouTube channel, Maresca said: “One of the reasons why I’m here is because I’m convinced that the squad is very good.
“As you said, it’s full of talent. So the most important thing now is that we are able to create the right culture that drives us through the season.”
Just how talented is Chelsea’s squad?
Chelsea finished in sixth place last season, outside of the Champions League spots.
Even so, they probably do possess one of the best squads in the Premier League.
In midfield, they have Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, for example, the two most expensive signings in the club’s history.
In attack, there is also Cole Palmer, someone who Maresca knows well from his time at City.
Palmer was arguably the best player in the Premier League last season after coming up with 33 goal contributions for Chelsea, the most in the division.
It is no wonder that Maresca was enticed by the Blues’ squad. It is now up to the former Leicester and Parma boss to get the best out of it. With the players at Chelsea, the team really should be finishing in the top four in the 2024/25 campaign.
