Ex-Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris has seemingly taken to social media to slam Noni Madueke.
Madueke started in England’s 4-2 win against Croatia on Wednesday and was one of the Three Lions’ best players.
In fact, Madueke was so good that his former Chelsea teammate Pedro Neto could probably learn a thing or two from his performance.
Madueke was direct and brave on the ball. Neto does not always play like that and is sometimes criticised as a result. Nevertheless, Morris was still not convinced by the Arsenal star.
They’ve both made good starts to the World Cup, but who do you prefer: Noni Madueke or Pedro Neto?
Who's the better player and why? 🤔
Former Chelsea player Jody Morris not impressed with Noni Madueke’s reaction to blocked shot
There was one moment in England’s win against Croatia when Madueke had a shot blocked and tried to get his country’s supporters fired up shortly afterwards.
During the game, Morris went on a bit of a rant on X and was clearly referring to that phase of play in a post.
On X, he said: “Imagine being in a 1 v 1 situation as an England winger…defender gets the better of you and blocks your shot when maybe a cross was the better option..so you then gesture to the England fans shouting Vamos Vamos.”

That is quite harsh, as Madueke was pretty much a threat from the first minute. He had a good game, in contrast to his former Chelsea teammate Reece James.
The English media have criticised James for his performance on Wednesday, with the right-back falling asleep for one of Croatia’s goals. He failed to track Ivan Perisic’s run, which resulted in Zlatko Dalic’s side finding the back of the net.
Had Morris not played for Chelsea, you suspect that he would also be criticising James’ display instead of Madueke’s.
He is allowed to be a little bit biased, though, as a former Chelsea player. As are we at The Chelsea Chronicle, so one average game does not take anything away from James, who is still the best right-back in the world!
As for Madueke, he is a talented wide man and showed that against Croatia, but there are not too many Chelsea supporters who miss him if any at all.
