Chelsea already have one of the best players in world football in the form of Cole Palmer, however former Blue Jody Morris believes he could be about to get even better.
The England international played a key role in their Club World Cup triumph, with Alan Shearer naming Palmer in his Team of the Tournament.
On the biggest stage in the final against PSG, Palmer scored twice in the first half before setting up new teammate Joao Pedro for a third before the break.
Even Luis Enrique praised Palmer after the game, and a difficult few months in front of goal now seems to have come to an end.
As Enzo Maresca looks to build on a very successful first campaign at Stamford Bridge, he will be leading the Blues into the Champions League’s new format for the first time.

Jody Morris says Champions League football will help Cole Palmer reach ‘another level’ for Chelsea
The competition will give the attacking midfielder more chances to establish himself on the European stage, with Chelsea already aware they will face two top sides in the group stages of the competition.
Morris believes these matches are where Palmer will reach ‘another level’, and is confident that his performance in the Conference League final is proof that he can do things very few others can.
He told TalkSPORT: “For me, he’s a superstar already, but I still think he’s got another level to go to, because I think you need to play in the Champions League for you to be considered the next level.”
“We saw what he did on the right-hand side in the Conference League final. He took it upon himself to go and right, ‘I’m going to make something happen.’
“There’s a few players that can do that. We were lucky enough to have probably the best to ever do that, Eden Hazard. Cole Palmer is in that same bracket.”

Cole Palmer’s previous Champions League record
While a lot of the Chelsea squad will be taking part in the Champions League for the first time in their career next season, Palmer actually has a winner’s medal in the competition.
He made multiple cameo appearances in the season where Manchester City were crowned victors, before scoring in the Super Cup final they qualified for as a result.
It was back in 2021 where Palmer scored his sole goal in the competition, finding the net in the group stage against Club Brugge.
He will be heavily relied on by the Blues next season to help them advance in the Champions League, with a spot in the 2029 Club World Cup up for grabs too.
