Joe Cole wants Chelsea to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice this summer and slot him in alongside Enzo Fernandez in the Blues midfield.
We’ve seen Enzo Fernandez, 22, make a fairly decent start since his mid-season arrival at Chelsea from Benfica.
It definitely feels like the Blues can get much more from the Argentine midfielder if they find a No.6 to play with him. As it stands, the World Cup winner is having to pick up a lot of the defensive chores, which is perhaps limiting his creative ability.
Declan Rice, who’s won of the best No.6s in Europe right now, is someone linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
TalkSPORT claimed last month that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is prepared to fund a huge bid this summer for West Ham’s captain and talisman Rice. Incidentally, the report says the 24-year-old midfielder could be worth as much as £100million.

Speaking with ESPN, former Chelsea star Joe Cole explained he would love Rice to complete a move across London next season.
We are certainly intrigued about the idea of a Rice-Fernandez partnership in the centre of the park.
“I would take Declan Rice [at Chelsea]. I know people might say it’s another midfielder, but it’s a player I’ve watched many times and you can rely on him,” Cole told ESPN.
“Declan Rice gives us solidity in midfield… I think Enzo and Declan would benefit from each other.”

Rice really could be a dream signing for Chelsea this summer.
Is it realistic, though?
The Blues have spent some crazy money in recent transfer windows and got so many deals wrong, but surely Rice is as safe as it gets when it comes to his Premier League know-how.
It feels like the England international can take his game to new heights with a big-money move.
But will Chelsea still be able to attract these big names and ambitious players with European football to offer next season?
