It did not take two players much time to convince John Terry of their quality after signing for Chelsea.

Terry was fortunate to play alongside some incredible footballers during his long and successful spell at Chelsea.

The former defender got to share the Stamford Bridge pitch with the likes of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.

As well as Drogba and Lampard, Terry also got to line up alongside Petr Cech and Eden Hazard.

John Terry knew Petr Cech and Eden Hazard would be incredible

Cech and Hazard both proved to be successes at Chelsea, which did not shock Terry. Instantly, the ex-England international knew that Cech and Hazard were going to be great for the Blues.

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Terry said: “Two players for me stand out. Petr Cech was incredible. Honestly, when he first came in, like Lamps prided himself on doing shooting, scoring in training, nobody could score past Big Pete in small-sided games, shooting after training, it was incredible to watch.”

Terry later went on to add: “And also Hazard, that first training session. After that, he was terrible, but he turned up on a Saturday, so it was okay!”

Chelsea’s current first-choice goalkeeper is Robert Sanchez, and he has come under a lot of scrutiny since arriving at the club from Brighton & Hove Albion. The jury is still out on him.

Out wide, though, Enzo Maresca’s side look really strong, with Alejandro Garnacho having a terrific game last time out.

Terry thought Garnacho was really direct in his side’s 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 21-year-old provided two assists on the night, building on his goal against Qarabag a few days earlier.

A look at Petr Cech’s and Eden Hazard’s Chelsea records

Cech and Hazard contributed to the biggest successes in Chelsea’s history, with both club legends winning the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

Cech also managed to get his hands on the Champions League trophy in 2012 as he went on to star in the penalty shoot-out against Bayern Munich in the final. Cech finished his Chelsea career with 228 clean sheets to his name.

As for Hazard, he also tasted European success during his time in west London, winning the Europa League alongside Cech in 2013 before repeating the feat six years later.

Hazard, of course, scored two goals in the 2019 Europa League final against London rivals Arsenal, his 352nd and final appearance for the club.

Terry, then, was certainly justified in having a good feeling about Cech and Hazard, who will go down as two of the greatest footballers to have ever played for Chelsea.
