Chelsea youngster Frankie Runham signed his first ever professional contract this week.
Frankie Runham, who’s been with the Blues since the age of eight, has risen through the academy ranks at Cobham over the last decade.
Chelsea confirmed via their official website on Wednesday that Runham has now penned his first professional deal with the club.
The 17-year-old prospect may be the next rising star to watch out for.
Runham celebrated the news of his contract signing yesterday with a post on Instagram.
Chelsea legend John Terry, who works within the club’s academy, responded in the comment section to wish him luck.
Terry is still a fantastic ambassador for the club and often the first on the scene to congratulate Chelsea players on good news.
He went from academy boy to club legend during a stellar playing career at Chelsea, so we suspect many of the current youngsters look up to him for inspiration.

Runham, who can play as a winger or central playmaker, is now someone we will be keeping a close eye on.
The English teenager has been a regular for Chelsea’s Under-18s side this season, so the next step is moving up to the U23s. Afterwards, it’s the final huge jump to the senior squad.
He’s trained with the first team already this season. It’s a big challenge for Chelsea’s youngsters to make their first-team debuts.
