Of all the Chelsea supporters who were delighted with the big win over Tottenham last night, no one seemed more delighted than John Terry.

The former club captain and all-round legend has kept his admiration for the Blues since retiring from the game, being involved in coaching the academy this season.

Last night was a good day for the youth setup at Chelsea, with Alfie Gilchrist starring in just his second start for the club at right-back.

He was replaced late on by Josh Acheampong, who made quite the impact in defence in the limited time he was on the pitch.

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson eitherside of half-time brought the feel-good factor back to Stamford Bridge, a stadium that has been desperately missing it up to now this season.

One person who was clearly thrilled with the performance was Terry, who took to Instagram to share the reaction he and his wife had to the result.

The Englishman can be seen singing and dancing whilst enjoying a celebratory drink, captioning his story: “Get the tequila out.”

The win last night kept their hopes alive for finishing in the European places, and therefore keeping Mauricio Pochettino in a job for next season.

It has been believed for a number of weeks now that the Argentine’s place at the club relies on them finishing in the top seven, and this now looks a very realistic possibility based on how they performed last night.

The boss will be hoping he can welcome a number of his first team stars back soon, starting with another London derby at home against West Ham at the weekend.

He has already stated that he believes both Christopher Nkunku and Levi Colwill are close to coming back, with them both clearly strengthening a side that had no senior outfield players on the bench tonight.
