Raheem Sterling has reunited with Jorginho at Arsenal following his move from Chelsea on deadline day.
Raheem Sterling and Jorginho briefly played with each other at Chelsea back in the 2022/23 season before the latter joined Arsenal in the middle of that campaign.
Enzo Maresca did not want the winger, and Behdad Eghbali was happy to send Sterling to Arsenal at the end of the summer transfer window.
Jorginho has now been discussing his reunion with the 29-year-old at the Emirates.

Jorginho surprised by Raheem Sterling transfer
It is fair to say that Sterling’s loan move to Arsenal on deadline day caught Jorginho by surprise.
Speaking about it on Seaman Says, the midfielder said: “I am honestly not there looking at the news and stuff like that, because it’s mad. It’s different now, there’s even too much information there, and sometimes it’s not even true.
“It was the day of the game, I woke up and people [were talking], I was like: ‘What?!’ Then we found out that he was coming, and he’s going to be great for us with his qualities. He’s won already, I think it was a good signing and I think he can add a lot to the team.”
While Sterling has only joined the Gunners for the season, there does not look to be a way back for him at Chelsea.
The Blues are stacked in attack, doing their own recruitment on deadline day after bringing in Jadon Sancho from Manchester United. The 24-year-old is just one of many forward options Maresca currently have.
Sterling did imagine himself playing under Maresca, but the Italian clearly had other ideas.
Raheem Sterling cannot hurt Chelsea this season
With Sterling only being on loan at Arsenal, Chelsea do not have to worry about the England international scoring against them like Kai Havertz last term.
He is ineligible to play against the Blues in the Premier League, though next season could be a different story.
Arsenal purchasing Sterling hasn’t been ruled out, so the Blues could come up against him in the 2025/26 campaign.
There is a long way to go before then, however. Chelsea’s focus now will be on getting the best out of their current crop of attackers, rather than worrying about Sterling, who does not have a future with them.
In the 6-2 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Maresca was able to do that, with Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson all scoring.
