Reports have claimed that Jose Mourinho has now made an official proposal for his Roma side to make a loan signing from Chelsea in January.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the former Blues boss has highlighted a defender who he would like to bring in from England when the transfer window opens again in January.

Trevoh Chalobah has not had a kick for Chelsea this season since pre-season, with the injury he suffered during the tour of the United States clearly being more serious than first thought.

The Englishman was one of the homegrown players who the clubs were happy to part ways with over the summer if the right bid came in for him.

This didn’t happen of course, despite interest from the likes of Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.

It could be another former Chelsea coach that gives his career a lifeline though, with a loan move to Serie A reportedly on the cards.

Mourinho wants Chalobah

Mourinho is currently the benefactor of another Blues loanee that was extremely far away from the first team picture at Stamford Bridge.

Romelu Lukaku is back amongst the goals at last for Roma, with Chelsea fans hopeful that his form will finally see him secure a permanent move away from the club.

They will also be hopeful that this could soon see Chalobah move on for a transfer fee too, noting the value on the books that he holds due to being a player from their academy.

Following the sales of the likes of Mason Mount, it appears there is no prospect off limits when it comes to leaving the club.

This looks to be the case with Conor Gallagher too, who is reportedly still potentially going to be sold despite being a crucial player for Mauricio Pochettino this season.
