Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that there are plenty of Premier League sides who are interested in signing Conor Gallagher.
He told ‘The Insider’ that the England international could well be approached in January, with Tottenham one of the club’s quoted with interest in signing him.
Despite looking as if he is going to be an important player for Mauricio Pochettino, interest in Gallagher was not silenced late in the window.
Even on deadline day, there was talk of a deal worth about £50m still had the potential to be reached.
He remained at Stamford Bridge for now, and has since even taken the armband on a handful of occasions this season.
Monday night saw him put in arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt in the 2-0 victory over Fulham.
Despite being part of a midfield with the two most expensive in history, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, he did well to not be overlooked in a player of the match performance.
Despite impressing since August came to an end, Galetti has claimed that there is still interest from Premier League sides in signing him.
He said: “Different story for Gallagher: his contract expires in June 2025 and there wouldn’t be a rush on Chelsea‘s side to talk about a possible contract renewal. However, the Blues want to start discussions anyway, having already had to resist pressure from other clubs this summer.
“Conor – as is well known – attracted the attention of many Premier League teams and continues to do so. For this reason, let’s keep an eye on Tottenham, already in January: Spurs could make a concrete move following the possible farewell of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.”
Despite the many players brought in this position, it would be a huge mistake selling the England international right now.
