Chelsea were extremely busy in the summer transfer window, making more than 10 signings.

The likes of Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho all arrived at the club to strengthen the team’s attack.

Chelsea will be happy with their arrivals, with all three of those players already managing to make a contribution in the Premier League.

Neto and Sancho have an assist each, while Felix has a goal to his name after scoring against Wolverhampton Wanderers on his second debut for the club. Marc Cucurella thinks Felix will be a big help.

Javier Tebas on Joao Felix’s transfer to Chelsea

Chelsea’s transfer dealings came under a lot of scrutiny over the summer as the Blues did their best to avoid breaking PSR.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Felix’s £45m move to Chelsea has been reviewed but was coy on whether there was anything wrong with that transfer or Conor Gallagher’s switch to Atletico Madrid.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “We have reviewed the valuation of the operation between Joao Felix and Gallagher, and I’ll leave it at that.

“But there are many transfers within English football involving player exchanges where there are many numbers made to fix balances and books.”

Former Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has made a big claim about Gallagher following his move to Atletico.

Chelsea could have coped without Joao Felix

Now that Felix is at Chelsea, Enzo Maresca will look to utilise him, probably from off the bench.

His goal against Wolves came as a substitute, with the 24-year-old yet to make a start so far during his second spell at Chelsea.

However, before his arrival, the Blues already had Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku, who can both play as a No.10.

Considering that, you can argue that there was not a need for Felix. But Chelsea wanted to get rid of Gallagher and Atletico needed the funds to sign him, so signing the Portugal international did make some sense.

Any more reviews into Felix’s move to Stamford Bridge, though, and you will have to start questioning whether it was actually worth it.

Felix scored against Chelsea’s upcoming opponents West Ham United during his first spell at the club, so this could perhaps be a good game to start him in.
