It’s not been plain sailing for Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei in the opening months of the season at Leicester City.

Cesare Casadei, who’s just 20, left Chelsea in the summer to join Leicester on a season-long loan.

The Foxes are flying high at the top of the Championship table and have won 12 out of 13 league games, so the King Power Stadium seems like the place to be.

However, Chelsea’s loanee has struggled for regular starts and he’s come under-fire at certain times for some inconsistent performances.

The Italian midfielder may have performed a U-turn in his season last night, though.

Chelsea talent turns corner

Hopefully, Casadei will take some real momentum from his impressive individual display last night.

The box-to-box midfielder played the full 90 minutes in Leicester’s 1-0 home win over Sunderland in the league fixture.

His all-round game looked strong, providing some eye-catching dribbles through the midfield with his pace and power.

The Chelsea-owned youngster should’ve probably scored on Tuesday night. In particular, he had one great opportunity saved at point-blank range from the opposition goalkeeper. It was still very encouraging to see him getting in the right positions and look heavily involved.

Local media publication Leicestershire Live praised Casadei’s 7/10 performance yesterday.

Cesare Casadei potential

Leicester supporters are yet to see much of Casadei’s huge potential, but they did get a glimpse this week versus Sunderland.

A selection of Leicester fans on social media all agreed Casadei’s latest performance was the best they’ve seen from him so far at the club.

If he can get a run of starts and keep things simple, we’re still pretty confident he can have a really successful campaign in the Championship. He couldn’t ask to be in a better team right now to flourish.
