Levi Colwill reacted to the incredible atmosphere inside Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s cup tie against Newcastle United last night.
Chelsea’s form in the Premier League this season leaves a lot to be desired, but they’ve salvaged something by booking their spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The Blues hosted rivals Newcastle on Tuesday evening in the League Cup quarter-finals, eventually winning via a penalty shootout during a dramatic night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were joined by Fulham and Middlesbrough in qualifying for the semis. Incidentally, Liverpool play West Ham tonight in the remaining quarter-final.
If there’s no route into European football next season via the league, this cup run is a great alternative to achieving that aim for Chelsea.

Stamford Bridge atmosphere
Levi Colwill, 20, started in defence during yesterday’s thrilling win over Newcastle.
The young Blues star mentioned the home support during post-match celebrations on his social media.
Colwill wrote on Instagram: “Until the end. Amazing atmosphere tonight. Let’s go Blues.”
Speaking via Sky Sports post-match, Pochettino shared that Colwill actually came off the field with tiredness versus Newcastle.
Levi Colwill hails Chelsea fans
Let’s hope that the feel-good factor from last night remains at Chelsea in the coming weeks.
Now in a domestic cup semi-final, the Blues can focus on trying to climb up the league ladder and into a more respectable position.
Pochettino’s side sit 10th in the league table right now, which is far too low for a group with this much individual quality running through it. However, the final three games of 2023 represent a brilliant opportunity for a decent points return.
Chelsea play Wolverhampton Wanderers (away), Crystal Palace (home) and Luton Town (away) in the remaining December fixtures in the league.
It would’ve been a killer blow to lose yesterday and exit the cup, but this group now has to seize a rare bit of momentum in this season.
