The Cole Palmer hype train is showing no signs of slowing down yet during his second season at Chelsea.
Cole Palmer shocked everyone last year by enjoying a remarkable debut season with Chelsea, scoring 25 goals and creating 15 assists in 45 Blues appearances. However, the fact that he’s following it up with a superb second campaign is even more impressive.
So far, Palmer has seven goals and five assists in 10 Premier League matches this season.
Darren Bent has challenged Chelsea’s Palmer to perform in the biggest games, which should help establish him as one of the world’s best players. Can the 22-year-old attacker do just that when Enzo Maresca’s side host Arsenal this Sunday in the Premier League?
One source claims Palmer is expected to be fit against Arsenal, despite concerns regarding an injury he picked up last weekend against Manchester United.

Levi Colwill raves about super calm Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer
Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill, 21, has delivered a glowing verdict on Palmer. In particular, he thinks that the left-footed playmaker’s biggest attribute is his laid back attitude.
When discussing Chelsea star Palmer, Colwill told Sky Sports Premier League: “I’ve known him for a few years now from the England setup. You can always see he’s just so laid back. He’s technically outstanding. Last season, to come in and take the role in our team, to be that main man, he did wonderful, he did amazing. We’ve always seen that coming. Hopefully he can keep going and keep striving.”
Colwill was later asked if there’s anything Palmer can’t do, and he added: “No, I actually don’t think so. The way he’s so laid back, it’s just everything is so normal to him. I think that’s the best thing about him.”
It’s very rare that Palmer ever looks flustered on a football pitch. In fact, he plays the game with such a swagger that it’s so easy on the eye.
Gianfranco Zola is majorly impressed by what Palmer is doing in Chelsea colours, which is some recognition from a true Blues legend.
Cole Palmer the Chelsea talisman
While it’s been great to see the likes of Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson impress at Chelsea under Maresca, there’s no doubt that Palmer is still the glue of this team.
The Englishman is thriving in the No.10 position for the Blues, where so much of the team’s attacking play goes through him.
| Player | Average rating |
| Cole Palmer | 8.02 |
| Moises Caicedo | 7.56 |
| Nicolas Jackson | 7.50 |
| Noni Madueke | 7.42 |
| Jadon Sancho | 7.35 |
Chelsea have a great chance of achieving their goals if Maresca stays fit and firing during the whole years.
