Levi Colwill thinks Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo is destined to become one of the very best midfielders in the world.

Moises Caicedo, who’s just 21, made a remarkable move from Brighton to Stamford Bridge earlier this month. In fact, the Blues paid a British-record fee of £115million (Sky Sports) to sign the highly-rated youngster.

Caicedo earned his record transfer after some mesmerising performances in Brighton colours.

It certainly wasn’t a smooth debut for him last week in Chelsea’s defeat to West Ham, but he’s an all-action central midfielder that fans are very excited to see more of.

Blues centre-back Levi Colwill, 20, played alongside Caicdeo last season when he was on loan at Brighton.

The pair have now linked up again in the Chelsea line-up, and Colwill has raved about the talent of his teammate.

“I think anyone that watched him last season knows how good of a player he is,” Colwill told talkSPORT.

“In my opinion, he was worth every pound that was spent on him.

“I think he is going to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and the world.

“I don’t doubt that. Playing with him last season you just rely on him. Even when I know I have made a mistake, I have always known he is there to cover me in midfield. Some of the passes I gave to him were terrible and he still saved me and made me look good!

“Yeah, he is a very good player and him in this team alongside the other amazing players we have got, it is going to work well. Yeah, I am happy he is here.”

People will be closely examining Caicedo to try watch him live up to the massive price tag, but the player himself can only control what he does on the football pitch.

He’s an extremely effective midfielder out of possession and should bring massive running power to the Blues XI.

As quoted by LiveScore, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink recently said Chelsea will be a better team with Caicedo in the middle.
