Levi Colwill has shared what frustrates him about Chelsea and England teammate Cole Palmer in training sessions.

Blues defender Levi Colwill, 21, is currently with the England camp during this international break. He’s joined by 22-year-old club teammate Cole Palmer, too.

Chelsea talisman Palmer will be hoping to shine on the international stage in a similar way to his club form. The left-footed attacker has been on fire in the opening months of the season, scoring six goals and creating five assists in seven Premier League appearances.

Palmer has created the most chances from open play in the league this season, which illustrates that he’s far more than just a goalscorer.

Levi Colwill discusses Cole Palmer in training

Colwill has shared that Palmer is just as brilliant on the training pitches as on a matchday.

He’s amusingly claimed that the Chelsea playmaker is so frustrating to come up against in training because he scores with ease and makes so little fuss about it.

“He’s not the same Cole Palmer against me [in training]. No, I’m only joking. Of course he is amazing,” Colwill said, as quoted by The Guardian.

“You give him half a yard and it’s a goal. He’s so laid-back about it and it’s so frustrating at times because he’ll put it through your legs and score, then walk off like nothing has happened. You can’t get him back, that is the worst thing about it. Give him any chance outside the box or inside, it’s a 95% chance it will be a goal. You see that in most games.”

England need to use Cole Palmer more

Chelsea supporters will be able to testify to the fact that Palmer usually makes some kind of positive impact whenever he’s on the football pitch. In particular, he’s playing superb well this season in the creative No.10 position.

The Blues ace currently has nine senior caps for England, scoring two goals. However, he’s only started twice for the Three Lions, both friendlies.

It’s no easy task to get so many superstar names into one England XI, but we think Palmer should be a non-negotiable starter in this current form.

It’ll be interesting to see the England line-up selected by Lee Carsley in this week’s Nations League fixtures versus Greece (Thursday) and Finland (Sunday).
