Stewart Robson thinks Chelsea are too inconsistent and has mentioned one player specifically.
He did not start in Chelsea‘s 2-2 draw with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium over the weekend, but Robson was quick to highlight how hit and miss Mykhailo Mudryk can be on ESPN FC.
Mudryk had a difficult campaign at Chelsea last season, failing to score a single goal for the Blues following his move from Shakhtar Donetsk, but has had a few bright moments this term.
For example, the winger recently netted in his side’s 3-2 win against Leeds United in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Mudryk is still thought to have admirers at Arsenal, who tried to sign him before his switch to their London rivals, but journalist Dean Jones has ruled out a transfer.
Chelsea and Mykhailo Mudryk too inconsistent
Robson feels that Mudryk and his Chelsea team-mates have been too inconsistent this season, with Mauricio Pochettino‘s men currently sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
On the 23-year-old, the former Arsenal player said: “If you pick somebody like Mudryk, he’s an example of a Chelsea player who’s inconsistent.
“He’s got great pace, he can go past people, but when you watch him play, he’s more likely to make mistakes. And you could say that about a lot of the Chelsea players.”

Difficult for Mykhailo Mudryk to be consistent
In Mudryk’s defence, he is in and out of the team; he is not getting a proper run in the side.
Being utilised like that, it is not easy for Mudryk to find consistency. Can the Ukrainian perhaps do a bit more when he is given an opportunity by Pochettino? Maybe. He can be a bit rash at times.
Mudryk is definitely guilty of not composing himself and then skying a shot or putting it wide. If the Ukraine international wants to stay in the team, then he is going to have to start taking more of the chances that fall to him when he is on the pitch.
